1926 National Skate Day for Alzheimer's
Due to COVID-19, Steve won't be traveling across Canada in 2021/2022 to skate his 19-hour and 26-minute marathon to raise funds for Alzheimer's. Instead Steve will skate in Toronto December 15th for the 10th year and he is relying on Canadians to be part of National Skate Day for Alzheimer's and support your local Alzheimer Society. Covid has changed the world in so many ways. Many families are taking on the task of caregiving for their aging family members at home. They are afraid to put their loved ones in a long term care facility in case there is an outbreak and they won't be able to see them. This makes the Alzheimer Society even more important in our communities.
#1926CHALLENGE Steve is asking all hockey teams to take the #1926challenge. He says, "At one of the teams' practices crank up the ACDC music in the rink and have players skate for 19 minutes and 26 seconds. Then Post a photo at #1926challenge, and donate $19.26 to your local Alzheimer Society. Next challenge one of your rival teams to take the #1926challenge. By taking the challenge you are giving Alzheimer Societies the resources they need in communities across Canada.
